KUR · freestyle music editor

Cut your freestyle music to the time allowed — in your browser

Bring your own songs. KUR matches each piece to your horse’s walk, trot and canter tempo, crossfades the sections and checks the total against your level’s time window. Your music never leaves your computer.

1. Federation and level

2. Your horse’s tempo

Count the footfalls of one front leg for a minute, or tap along while watching a video of your horse. Use the metronome to check the number against your horse.

3. Your music

MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, FLAC or OGG. Files are decoded inside your browser; nothing is uploaded to us.

4. Arrange the freestyle

Add your tracks, then build a draft — you can change every section afterwards.

5. Listen and export

Export coming soon. Full-length export in full quality (WAV and 320 kbps MP3) is coming soon.

Everything else works today: build your freestyle, listen to the whole mix and download the first 30 seconds for free.

How it works

  1. Choose your federation and level — the time window and required paces load with a link to the rulebook.
  2. Enter your horse’s BPM at each pace (tap along to a video or use the metronome).
  3. Add your songs. KUR detects each track’s tempo; correct it with ½× / 2× or tap if needed.
  4. Build a draft, then fine-tune where each section starts and how long it runs. Cuts land on the beat and every join is crossfaded.
  5. Listen to the whole freestyle, download the cue sheet for your floor plan, and export.

Questions riders ask

Is my music uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, tempo detection, cutting and export all run in your browser with the Web Audio API. The files never reach our server.

Which time windows are included?

FEI freestyles (Pony to Grand Prix), USDF Training to Fourth Level, British Dressage Intro to Grand Prix, KNHS L to Grand Prix, and FN M** plus the FEI tests used in Germany. Each one links to its source. For FN E, A, L and M* we found no public source, so you enter the window from your show schedule.

Does it change the pitch when it matches the tempo?

No. Tempo changes use time-stretching, so the key stays the same. We cap the change at ±12% — beyond that, a different song usually sounds better.

Can I use any song?

You are responsible for the rights to the music you use. Some shows and live streams have stricter music rules, so check with the organiser.

Can I download the full freestyle?

Full-length export as WAV (44.1 kHz, 16-bit) and 320 kbps MP3 is coming soon as a one-off Export Pass. Today you can build the freestyle, listen to the whole mix in your browser and download the first 30 seconds plus the cue sheet for free. Join the waitlist and we will email you once when it opens.

What does custom freestyle editing usually cost?

Studios typically charge from about €99 (Intro) to €349 (Grand Prix) for an edit with a few weeks’ turnaround. KUR is do-it-yourself: you do the choreography thinking, the tool does the cutting in minutes.
